What is Energy Healing?
Energy healing is one of a number of different energy psychology techniques that combine Eastern and Western approaches to the body and mind. It is about restoring a balanced flow of energy within the body which can be affected by everyday life stress and other negative emotions like anger, fear or doubt. It is believed that their build-up in the body creates an energy imbalance that can lead to symptoms of physical pain.
Energy healing can be used to alleviate a wide range of problems including stress, anxiety, depression, addiction, phobias, rejection, anger, guilt, financial stress, relationship stress and many other every day physical ailments such as aches and pains, sore throats, allergies, food reactions and headaches.
What does the treatment involve?
Energy healing is all about bringing the natural flow of energy back within the body which can easily be disrupted by everyday difficulties, from physical incidents such as a bad fall or car accident to injuries from the past. Even though the wound may have healed, the energy in the body may still be out of balance and causing chronic pain or discomfort. Hands-on energy healing, placing hands on a painful area for example, can help unlock and release the energy that has been blocked or disrupted. The technique can be described as a movement of hands on the body with an intent to help or heal, going beyond a simple touch or massage.
Who is it for and what can the side effects be?
Energy healing covers a wide range of issues and can be used to improve well-being through gentle, non-invasive therapy which can potentially bring relief with little or no pain at all. Energy healing is a more recent approach to the mind and body, along with Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) and Thought Field Therapy (TFT), and it is still a controversial area within the mental health field. Depending on the intensity or severity of individuals’ issues it may not be suitable for everyone.
